This is very fine and extremely rare example of late XIX century writing box.

It has been made probably in Belgium with major French influence as it seen.

Materials involved in this piece are: poplar wood, Rio-rosewood, some tropical hard wood possible of mahogany family, ebony probably African, brass, mother of pearl, bone, Rio-rosewood veneer, ebony veneer.  It is in rather pure condition at the moment, therefore can not be sold as it is. It is for sale only as a restoration-conservation project.
